Travel Insurance

What our policy covers

Our travel insurance is specially designed for our travelling members. We aim to keep you out of trouble but be there for you should trouble land at your feet. Our insurance is focused on what is really important, medical & emergency assistance and evacuation, overseas hospital expenses, lost or stolen baggage, cancellation costs, and liability.

The 5 parts of a policy to know about

So here we outline simply what each part of a policy actually does. This is an attempt to present the terms surrounding travel insurance with clarity, but despite our best attempts, you should still take the time to read the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) & the Financial Services Guide (FSG) and ask questions about it.

1. Medical emergencies & evacuation
If there is one reason to buy travel insurance, this is it. Hospital costs in the USA for example, can approach $10,000 per day, while medical evacuation can easily exceed $100,000. Definitely take the time to read this part of the policy in detail. Importantly all of our international insurance plans include unlimited overseas emergency medical assistance and overseas emergency medical and hospital expenses

2. Trip Cancellation
This covers you for costs if you suddenly find you can't go on your trip for some unforeseen reason such as illness or injury. The important thing to remember here is that for this section of the policy to be useful, you have to buy the policy when you start booking tickets and not the week before you leave.

3. Personal Belongings
While loss of your personal belongings is often the reason most people buy travel insurance, it is arguably the least important: your things can be replaced but your health often can't. This is why we provide you choice; comprehensive cover will include all the important cover including lost or stolen baggage and for the budget cover is for just the essentials. Get a quote and read the PDS & the FSG to find out more.

4. Personal liability
Imagine knocking over that expensive vase with your backpack while shopping in Venice. All our international travel plans include personal liability cover, so while we can't spare you the embarrassment we can make sure you don't have to foot the bill.

5. Travel Documents, credit cards and travelers cheques
As you know lost or stolen passports, credit cards or travelers cheques when your overseas can be a royal pain not to mention a very expensive exercise. Our comprehensive plan includes $5000 per adult listed on the policy to replace these items.
